Books on the High Street…

Hurray! After months of hard work Daisy White’s Booktique now has three of the smallest independent bookshops out on the High Street. We are so excited to be collaborating with other entrepreneurs, and are hosted in Rachael’s Cupcake Kitchen (Horsham), The Little Teahouse (Southwater), and The Tollhouse Store and Café (Lindfield). I can’t resist sneaking in to all the venues occasionally, like a mad mystery shopper, and just enjoying that fact that customers are browsing happily through the books for a ‘reading title’ to enjoy with their tea and cake.

We don’t often get a chance to relax and step away from the electronic gadgets, so instead of flicking through your texts grab a book next time you have five minutes to spare!

I am very lucky that we have some exceptional indie bookshops in this area (Steyning, Brighton) but equally I see them closing all the time (Horsham, Lindfield), and it would be a shame to lose this link between readers and writers. Hence I’m currently scouting for more coffee shops and tearooms to create some more Mini Pops…
